Abstract
A probabilistic analysis is made of the degradation of heterolasers wh en the distribution of the threshold current obeys the normal law and the distribution of the failure times obeys the lognormal law. It is s hown that the parameters of the distribution of the failure times of h eterolasers can be determined from the average threshold current and f rom the variance of the distribution of this parameter at the initial moment.
