Abstract
A study is reported of structures formed as a result of hard excitatio n in a wide-aperture Fabry-Perot interferometer filled with a Kerr non linear medium and supporting one longitudinal mode. The mechanism of f ormation of quasiperiodic structures, i.e. their self-building, is dem onstrated. This mechanism is new for diffraction systems. A study is r eported of the spectrum of collective excitations and of the stability of periodic structures.
