A. Gil et al., ANALYSIS AND COMPARISON OF THE MICROPOROSITY IN AL-PILLARED, ZR-PILLARED AND TI-PILLARED CLAYS, Microporous materials, 4(5), 1995, pp. 369-378
The microporous accessibility of three pillared clays (Al-, Zr- and Ti
-PILC) and two zeolites as references have been studied. Nitrogen adso
rption data obtained at very low relative pressures were used to obtai
n a thorough characterization of the microporosity of the samples. The
Dubinin-Radushkevich (DR) formalism was used to describe the volume f
iling of micropores and the energetic heterogeneity of microporous sol
ids. The adsorption potential distributions and the Horvath-Kawazoe mo
del confirm the existence of two sizes of micropores in the pillared c
lays and one size in the zeolites. Nevertheless, the two zeolites show
a larger microporosity than the three pillared clays studied.
