Abstract
The formation of precursor species, explored by the addition of hydroc hloric acid (a nutrient in the synthesis of ALPO(4) molecular sieves) is evidenced by P-31 and Al-27 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectr oscopy. The data presented clarify an interesting detail within the pr ecursor gel and provide a unique insight of the mechanism of formation of molecular sieves.
