W. Schafer et al., SETUP AND USE OF THE ROTAX INSTRUMENT AT ISIS AS ANGLE-DISPERSIVE NEUTRON POWDER AND TEXTURE DIFFRACTOMETER, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 364(1), 1995, pp. 179-185
The ROTAX instrument at ISIS is run as an angle-dispersive time-of-fli
ght instrument using the JULIOS scintillation detector in forward-, 90
degrees- and backscattering geometry; d-spacing coverage is from more
than 50 Angstrom to less than 0.2 Angstrom. Delta d/d-resolution is c
alculated to 3.5 x 10(-3) in backscattering. Tests and examples of a m
ultipurpose use of the neutron instrument as powder diffractometer for
crystallographic and magnetic structure analysis are presented; the a
dditional use as texture diffractometer is discussed.
