Abstract
Employing the scattering theory of rough surface and reciprocity, nume rical results of the emissivity versus backscattering coefficients for various soil wetness and surface roughness are obtained The calculate d results were used to construct a mesh graph. Any point on the graph denotes a pair of complementary active/passive data. Its location on t he graph may be used to estimate the wetness and roughness of bare soi l, separately.
