S. Shimizu et al., ANALYZING POWERS OF P+D SCATTERING BELOW THE DEUTERON BREAKUP THRESHOLD, Physical review. C. Nuclear physics, 52(3), 1995, pp. 1193-1202
All the vector and tenser analyzing powers of the p+d scattering have
been measured at E(p)(lab)=2.5 MeV (E(d)(lab)=5 MeV), where a calculat
ion of the three-nucleon scattering state with an improved treatment o
f Coulomb force has become available. Measurements have also been made
at energies below and slightly above the deuteron breakup threshold a
t E(p)(lab)=3.34 MeV. The experimental data have small statistical err
ors ranging from +/- 0.0004 to +/- 0.0008, and the uncertainties in th
e scale are less than 1%. The present data together with our previous
data on the cross section are compared with several Faddeev calculatio
ns based on a separable form nucleon-nucleon potential or on a realist
ic potential with Coulomb force being treated nearly correctly or appr
oximately. Disagreements between the calculations and the experiment a
re found not only in the cross section and the vector analyzing powers
A(y) and iT(11) but also in the tenser analyzing powers T-21 and T-22
.
