EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY OF WIND FLOW OVER THE MODEL OF A VALLEY

Fundamental studies of ground-level wind flows for the case of a hill- valley configuration were performed in a boundary layer wind tunnel. T he investigations, carried out for four models, were focused on the me an flow and the analysis of the turbulent fluctuations providing the i nformation necessary for the determination of diffusion characteristic s. The results obtained for three simplified models of a valley, allow ed features of the local flows occurring in a real terrain model of mu ch more complicated geometry, to be explained.
