R. Jozwiak et al., WIND-TUNNEL INVESTIGATIONS OF INTERFERENCE EFFECTS ON PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION ON A BUILDING, Journal of wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics, 57(2-3), 1995, pp. 159-166
This paper presents wind tunnel investigations of the aerodynamic inte
rference effects on the pressure distribution on a building adjacent t
o another one. Tests were carried out at the Aviation Institute in War
saw. Models, made to 1 : 100 scale, were set up behind a turbulent flo
w development system. It has been found that for some wind directions
local values of the external pressure coefficient on the leeward wall,
close to the gap between buildings, may be 2.5 times higher than on a
n isolated building, This may also lead to a reverse draught in the na
tural ventilation system of the apartment buildings.
