Ac. Mikkelsen et Fm. Livesey, EVALUATION OF THE USE OF THE NUMERICAL K-EPSILON MODEL KAMELEON-II, FOR PREDICTING WIND PRESSURES ON BUILDING SURFACES, Journal of wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics, 57(2-3), 1995, pp. 375-389
This paper evaluates the reliability of the numerical K-epsilon model,
Kameleon II, for determining wind pressures on building surfaces, by
comparing computed results to wind-tunnel tests and full-scale measure
ments. Computed values of pressure on a cube indicate higher values th
an those obtained by wind-tunnel tests. The values obtained for pressu
res on a house closely matched wind-tunnel results for the walls where
as the roof C-p values were underestimated by Kameleon II. In separati
on zones, care should be taken using numerically obtained C-p values a
s changes in the boundary conditions affect the flow considerably.
