Abstract
For two classes of first-order equations we study the exact multiplici ty of periodic solutions. If the nonlinearity is a quadric in the unkn own function, we give conditions for existence of exactly four solutio ns. In another direction, we use bifurcation theory to derive exact mu ltiplicity results for quadratic and cubic equations. (C) 1995 Academi c Press, Inc.
