Abstract
Aerospace and aviation activities are extremely important components o f Ohio's economy. Over two million Ohioans are employed in endeavors d irectly related to aviation services; twice that number are employed b y industries that are significant users of air transportation. Further , the aviation industry is very influential in attracting and retainin g key manufacturing and nonmanufacturing firms. This article explores the influences and impacts of aerospace and aviation industries in Ohi o, and the importance of understanding key linkages, influences, and i mpacts in formulating public policy, structuring economic development initiatives, and determining infrastructural investment priorities.
