Abstract
It is shown that the soliton interaction can be significantly reduced in a system with ultimately stable soliton propagation. Moreover, unde r the action of strong filtering and nonlinear gain the soliton intera ction can change sign from attraction to repulsion and vice versa. The formation of in-phase and out-of-phase bound states is also demonstra ted. (C) 1995 Optical Society of America
