Pp. Litam et Tp. Loughran, CLOSTRIDIUM-SEPTICUM BACTEREMIA IN A PATIENT WITH LARGE GRANULAR LYMPHOCYTE LEUKEMIA, Cancer investigation, 13(5), 1995, pp. 492-494
This is the first case report of Clostridium septicum septicemia in a
patient with large granular lymphocyte leukemia. C. septicum infection
is highly associated with malignancy and causes a rapidly fatal enter
ocolitis among patients who are profoundly neutropenic. The need for e
arly recognition and combination of early antibiotic therapy and neces
sary surgical intervention may help to alter the fulminating nature of
C. septicum infection.
