A method of uranium determination in the presence of ferron by adsorpt
ive stripping voltametry was proposed. The adsorption of uranium compl
exes with ferron on a hanging mercury drop electrode in natural media
was studied. The composition of uranium complexes with ferron was dete
rminated as well as the kinetics and adsorption parameters. In a 0.1 m
ole KNO3 solution (pH = 7.00 and borax buffer) the current - uranium c
oncentration dependence in the presence of ferron is linear within the
interval of 1.2 . 10(-8) - 3.8 . 10(-7) mole/liter after 60 sec. accu
mulation time. This method was applied to establish the uranium concen
tration in effluents rising from the nuclear technology.
