HAZARDOUS-WASTE INCIDENTS AND GENERATION IN FAIRVIEW TOWNSHIP, AND INCIDENTS IN GIRARD AND SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIPS, ERIE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, USA

Fairview, Girard and Springfield Townships are located in a rural area of Erie County, Pennsylvania, USA. Primary transportation routes betw een major metropolitan areas of the Lake Erie region (Pittsburgh, Penn sylvania, Buffalo, New York and Cleveland, Ohio) pass through these to wnships. This investigation collected data from governmental sources o n listed hazardous waste generators in Fairview Township, and reported material release incidents in all three townships. A total of 14 RCRA generator (including 3 transporters) and 9 release incidents were ide ntified in Fairview Township, 6 release incidents in Girard Township a nd 7 release incidents in Springfield township during the study time p eriod, 1988-1994.
