The minisatellite locus D1S80 (1p35-p36), is a highly polymorphic VNTR
that also contains a Hinf I polymorphism in the 5' flanking region. O
ur data suggests that the Hinf I polymorphism is a G > T transversion
58 bases downstream from the forward primer. This G > T transversion a
lso creates a Tsp509 I restriction sire. Additionally, a G > C transve
rsion polymorphism was identified in the 3' flanking region by the cre
ation of a BsoF I restriction sire immediately adjacent to the repeat
region. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science B.V.
