Abstract
Gas phase UV/VIS-absorption spectra are reported for HOBr and CH3OBr i n the wavelength range (230 < lambda < 400) nm. The quantum yield for Br(P-2(3/2)) atom generation was determined to be greater than or equa l to 0.95 in the laser photolysis of HOBr at lambda = 363 nm.
