The effect of medium permeability on thermal convection in micropolar
fluids is considered. It is found that the presence of coupling betwee
n thermal and micropolar effects may introduce oscillatory motions in
the system. The possibility of oscillatory motions and the increase in
Rayleigh number for the stationary convection and decrease in Rayleig
h number for overstability with the increase in permeability is depict
ed graphically.
