Abstract
The EPR spektra of the Ising magnetic KEr(MoO4)(2), of 18-30 GHz are s tudied in the range 1.8-4.2 K. The measurement of the angular dependen ces of the EPR spectrum has for the first time permitted detection and investigation of the first-order structural phase transition in the p aramagnet, which is induced by the external magnetic field. The critic al temperature and the critical field of the transition are estimated. A plausible microscopic model of the cooperative Jahn-Teller effect i s proposed to describe the observed phase transition.
