Reaction of C-60 With tetrathiotetracene (TTT) gives an adduct of form
ula (C-60)(2) . TTT . 0.5CS(2). The single crystals and powdered sampl
es of the TTT and (C-60)(2) . TTT . 0.5CS(2) have been spectroscopical
ly characterized. It was shown that the transmission spectra of the ad
duct contain not only the IR active modes of the components but also n
umerous features arising from isotopic or solid-state effects due to t
he symmetry breaking of the C-60 molecules.
