Abstract
Newton's method of iteration is used along with the P-N method, also c alled the spherical-harmonics method, and Hermite cubic splines to dev elop an iterative solution to a class of nonlinear problems in radiati ve transfer. Anisotropic scattering and specularly and diffusely refle cting boundaries are allowed for the steady-state, combined-mode, cond uctive-radiative, heat-transfer problem considered.
