In this paper, a nine-hour practical session suitable for second-year
engineering undergraduates is proposed and discussed. The aims and obj
ectives of the practical session, as well as the tasks for the student
s are clearly formulated. The domains of each task are analysed. The e
xisting practices are reflected and reviewed and a new assessment sche
me is proposed.
