Abstract
In the present paper the fatigue crack initiation is studied for welde d joints and notched CT specimens made of mild steels. The experimenta l results are analysed by the notch stress intensity factor K-p, psi c riterion which depends on the notch angle psi acid on the acuity p. Th is criterion allows a conservative design of structures.
