Abstract
The palladium-catalysed reaction of dimethyl esters of N-alkoxycarbony lkainic acids with aryl halides in the presence of catalytic amounts o f Pd(OAc)(2) and of the n-Bu(4)NCl/NaHCO3 combination affords stereose lectively the corresponding E vinylic substitution products in satisfa ctory yield.
