Abstract
Experimental investigation was carried out for friction factor and hea t transfer coefficient in the case of a rotating tube with a twisted-t ape insert for heat transfer augmentation. The data obtained were comp ared with existing data for a stationary tube with a twisted-tape inse rt. It has been observed that the enhancement in heat transfer offsets the rise in friction factor due to rotation, with respect to a plain tube under stationary conditions. A correlation has been proposed for the data obtained.
