Abstract
The jumping plantlouse genus Euphalerus is reviewed. It is suggested t hat the Nearctic and Old World species are not congeneric with the Neo tropical species. A checklist, including hostplant and distributional data, is given for the 22 recognised Neotropical species. Ten new spec ies are described from Belize and Costa Rica; one species from Panama and Costa Rica is transferred from Limbopsylla as a new combination. A n identification key is provided for the eleven species known from Bel ize. Information on gall- and lerp-formation by the new species is pro vided.
