Y. Isono et M. Kotani, A CONTACTLESS METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT OF ELECTRICAL-CONDUCTIVITY IN A PARTICULAR DIRECTION, Measurement science & technology, 6(9), 1995, pp. 1429-1432
Oscillating current in a conductor induced by mechanical vibration was
used to detect the electrical conductivity of a solid in a particular
direction. Mechanical vibration of a sample under a static magnetic f
ield induced an electric current in a particular direction. The Joule
heat generated by the oscillating current was detected through the dec
rease induced by the applied magnetic field in the amplitude of the me
chanical vibration. Electrical conductivity data obtained with several
metals and graphite coincided with those obtained by conventional met
hods.
