The reaction between [Mo(NO)Tpl(2)] [Tp* = HB(3,5-Me(2)C(3)HN(2))(3)]
and the bifunctional ligands BLH(2) (BL = 4,4'-OC6H4CH2C6H4O, 4,4'-OC
H2C6H4CH2O and 2,7-O2C10H6) in the presence of NEt(3) affords the redo
x active metallomacrocycles [Mo(NO) Tp(BL)](2) which have been isolat
ed as syn- and anti-isomers, except where BL = 4,4'-OCH2C6H4CH2O, and
characterized by spectroscopic and electrochemical methods.
