Abstract
The present study investigated the influence of the patient's sexual o rientation on 417 therapists' perception of his mental health. Partici pants were assigned case histories where a hypothetical patient was he terosexual or ego-syntonic homosexual. Attributions of severity of men tal status were found to differ as a function of the patient's sexual orientation.
