Covection-diffusion model was used to study the chemical kinetics in f
low injection analysis(FIA) system, Based on the expression of concent
ration distribution of physical dispersion of sample without chemical
reaction, the expressions of concentration distribution of product in
single-line FIA system with first-order and second-order chemical reac
tion under certain conditions were derived by mathematical inductive m
ethod, The analytical solutions are very simple so that they can be ap
plied to simulate the produced curves with computer easily, The experi
mental fact that double-humped peak occurred when sample volume is ver
y large in second-order reaction system was interpreted by the results
computer-simulated. In addition, other information concerning chemica
l kinetics was discussed.
