Abstract
In this paper a closed-form solution of the performance of a three-pha se voltage-source, six-step inverter feeding a three-phase static indu ctive bond is presented. Analytical expressions for the steady-state c urrents of the system are derived from which the performance of the sy stem can be investigated. Explicit formulae for the current ratings of the switching elements, whether thyristors, transistors or diodes use d in the system are derived.
