SOLUBILITY OF CHLOROFLUOROCARBON-113 IN WATER AND SEAWATER

The solubilities of dilute mixtures of the trichlorotrifluorethane CFC -113 in pure water and seawater over the temperature range -0.89 to 39 .59 degrees C were measured by gas chromatography. The data were fitte d by an equation in temperature and salinity of the form used previous ly to describe the solubilities of other gases. The deviation from the fitted curve is +/- 1.5% and the average precision of replicate measu rements at each temperature and salinity is similar to 1.2%.
