Abstract
Paxinorol, a novel modified indole-diterpenoid believed to be derived from paxilline, was detected with the recently-developed TLC-ELISAgram technique as a trace contaminant of a paxilline-containing extract fr om the fungus Penicillium paxilli Bainier. Paxinorol was isolated by c olumn chromatography, and its structure was determined by H-1 and C-13 MMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
