Abstract
A novel isoenzyme of ascorbate peroxidase with molecular mass of 31 kD a was found to be localized on membranes of microbodies. Intact microb odies had no latent ascorbate peroxidase activity, an indication that the active site of the ascorbate peroxidase was exposed to the cytosol and the peroxidase would scavenge hydrogen peroxide leaked from micro bodies.
