Abstract
The title compound, N-hydroxy-N-pivaloyl-glycine isopropylamide, C10H2 0N2O3, crystallizes with two independent molecules adopting two differ ent extended conformations. The planar trans hydroxamide group has sim ilar dimensions to the standard peptide bond. The hydroxamide N-OH gro up, which is roughly perpendicular to the hydroxamide plane, is engage d in a short contact with the glycine carbonyl group.
