Abstract
The crystal structures of 2-(2-methoxyphenyl)pyridine 1-oxide, C12H11N O2 (1), and 2-(2-methoxyphenyl)-3-methylpyridine 1-oxide, C13H13NO2 (2 ), have been determined. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the aromatic rings is 66.6(1) for (1) and 74.70(6)degrees fo r (2), Weak C-H ... O hydrogen bonds govern the crystal packing.
