Abstract
The crystal structure of the title compound, methyl ioxo-1,4,4a,9,9a,1 0-hexahydro-1-anthraceneacetate, C16H14O5, is stabilized by intramolec ular O-H ... O and both intra- and intermolecular C-H ... O hydrogen b onds, Ring A, carrying the acetoxy substituent, has a sofa conformatio n, the central ring B has an envelope conformation, while the aromatic ring C is planar.
