Abstract
Addition of H2O2 to an aqueous solution of 1,3-thiazolidine-2-thione a nd ZnCl2 produced ZnSO4.2H(2)O and the title compound. The asymmetric unit of the latter consists of one NO3- anion and one C6H11N2O2S2+ cat ion, The thiazolidine ring has a C(2)-envelope conformation and the ex ocyclic ketonic and the carbonylic O atoms are trans related. The nitr ate anions are linked to the cations through hydrogen bonds which invo lve the H atoms of the ammonium N atoms.
