The proper sizing of any photovoltaic system needs information about l
oad requirements, solar radiation and temperature at the site and manu
facturer's data specifications of the PV modules. This paper presents
theoretical calculations of the mismatch and oversizing in PV systems.
Experimental results on two solar refrigerator systems will be presen
ted and discussed. It was found that the selection of a good sized sys
tem is normally affected by local conditions at the site like temperat
ure, solar radiation, etc.
