We investigate the stability of wind accretion in a two-dimensional fr
ame. We employ high-resolution numerical methods with dynamic mesh-ref
inement for the integration of the hydrodynamic equations. Attention i
s paid to well adapted physical and numerical boundary conditions. Whe
n comparing our results with earlier studies we point to correlations
between the size of the accreting object and the onset of flip-flop in
stabilities.
