Abstract
An acoustical method is proposed for the determination of the elastic c(ijkl)(E) and piezoelectric e(npq) constants of cubic crystals of cla sses 23 and ($) over bar 4 3m, tetragonal crystals of classes 422 and ($) over bar 4 2m, hexagonal crystals of class 622, and orthorhombic c rystals of class 222. The method is based on measurements of the phase velocities of plane ultrasonic waves in large-size samples, in which these velocities are equal to those in unbounded crystals.
