Abstract
A novel compound MS-444 was isolated from the culture broth of a bacte rial strain KY7123. The strain was identified as Micromonospora sp. fr om its morphological and cultural characteristics. The compound inhibi ted the activity of purified smooth muscle myosin light chain kinase w ith an IC50 value of 10 mu M. The production, isolation, physico-chemi cal properties and biological activities of MS-444 were described in t his paper.
