Abstract
Besuchetiella sumatrana, new species, is described from leaf-litter sa mples from Sumatra and is compared with B. mirabilis Osella from Malay sia. The assignment of the new species to Besuchetiella Osella is unce rtain and the erection of a separate genus may become necessary later. Characters are discussed as they relate to phylogeny. The position of Besuchetiella Osella among genera of Stromboscerini (Rhynchophoridae) is reconsidered.
