Abstract
The factor structure of the state and trait versions of the Depression Adjective Check Lists (DACL) was assessed. Results support the existe nce of two underlying factors, ''negative mood'' and ''positive mood,' ' which are robust across sex and age groups (elderly, young adults, a nd adolescents) and across referred as well as nonreferred populations .
