Abstract
An epidemic of tinea corporis due to Trichophyton tonsurans among wres tlers in Sweden is described. Totally 19 patients, 14 patients from Ma lmo and 5 from Gothenburg, were found. The suspected source of this ep idemic was from a wrestlers' team from the USA visiting Sweden in Apri l, 1993. All patients were treated orally with either griseofulvin, fl uconazole or terbinafine, and all were cured. To prevent spreading, ep idemiological tracing of secondary cases is important.
