The results of researches devoted to thermal degradation of powder cel
luloses (PC) modified by Lewis acids (Lh) are presented. The effect of
LA on tile changes of some kinetic parameters of the studied samples,
namely on their thermal stability, decomposition rate, apparent activ
ation energy, reaction order and others have seen studied. It was show
n that, in spite of a lower crystallinity, compared to that of microcr
ystalline cellulose (MCC), lower polymerization degree, the presence o
f oxidized groups, low molecular water-soluble compounds and a relativ
ely high content of ash elements, the thermal resistance of powders, o
btained under the influence of LA, is practically the same as the resi
stance of initial cellulose.
