J. Gigac et al., EFFECT OF FIBERS AND FILLERS ON THE OPTICAL AND MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PAPER, Cellulose Chemistry and Technology, 29(1), 1995, pp. 87-96
The paper investigates tile effect of pulp fibres and mineral fillers
on the optical and mechanical characteristics of printing papers. A co
mplex experiment for raw material furnish and handsheet preparation wa
s elaborated for-the investigation of the effect of the beating degree
, sort of hardwood pulp, amount and type of calcium carbonate on the s
cattering coefficient and on the tensile index of tile paper. The limi
ting conditions of paper's quality parameters and evaluation of the ef
fect of fibres and fillers interaction allow to optimize the kind and
intensity of beating of the hardwood pulp and the type and amount of c
alcium carbonate.
