In this article Ing. Georges Stevens and Professor C. Walrand-Gorller
of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium report on the treatment
of industrial wastewaters of different origins by reverse osmosis tec
hnology. Up to 80% of the water is present as permeate, with a quality
comparable with surface water reserved for drinking water. Rejection
coefficients for several individual pollutants have been calculated.
