I. Spiridon et al., ON SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF LIGNIN AND POLYPHENOLIC PRODUCTS SEPARATEDFROM SPRUCE BARK, Cellulose Chemistry and Technology, 29(2), 1995, pp. 115-121
Spruce bark has been subjected to treatments with agents suitable to a
lkaline and acid delignification, and with organic solvents, as well a
s to successive extractions with petroleum ether, ethylic ether, ethyl
ic alcohol, water and alkalies. The products separated have been chara
cterizated by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and gel permeation c
hromatography, on using water or diluted alkaline solutions as elution
agents. The obtained data permit to evidence some characteristics to
be further employed in subsequent experiments devoted to chemical modi
fication or utilization in various domains.
